32 pupils shortlisted for Sani Lulu's football/education scholarship

No few than 32 pupils have been penciled down for the 2019 Fosla Academy scholarship.

The children who were selected across different local government areas in Kogi State are made up of 26 boys and 6 females.

They were selected during the 2018 Fosla U-13 scholarship tournament held in Idah for the Kogi State Zone of the championship.
Idah emerged champions of the tournament after defeating Omala LGA  5-3 via penalties. The regulation time had ended 1-1. The final match was played on January 1, 2019.

The 32 successful candidates will battle FCT Zone for the final selection to determine those that will go in for the final selection through written test in April this year.

FCT Fosla U13 scholarship tournament is scheduled to hold on April 20, 2019 while the grand final which will feature Kati and FCT zones will hold on April 27, 2019.
The scholarship programme is an annual event for indigent children within the 13 year age bracket.

Speaking at the end of the tournament in Idah, proprietor of Fosla Academy and benefactor of the scholarship congratulated the selected candidates for putting in their best. He also thanked the coaches and teachers in Kogi primary schools for doing a diligent job is selecting the teams and participating in the tournament.  
"It has been a successful tournament.  I, first of all, want to congratulate the selected candidates for the scholarship.

"I want to also thank the coaches for doing a great job.  Your sacrifices have been duly justified by the performance of this children.

"Fosla U13 Scholarship Tournament is a yearly event that we have continued to undertake more than seven year ago. It has not been easily financially but God has been our strength and provide.  Your support and participation also encourages us to the more for the future if our children and we will not relent," The former NFF President said.
