Fosla Football Club officially inaugurated

Fosla Football Club, FFC, today, was officially inaugurated in Abuja.

The Club which was unveiled on Monday, September 24, saw the major players in sports and football administration in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, including Nigeria Football Federation Secretary-General, Sanisu Mohammed, in attendance.

In his address of welcome, the owner of Fosla Football Club, Alhaji Sani Lulu thanked the dignitaries for finding time to honour the event even at a short notice adding that the floating of FFC came 9 years ahead of its projected time of 2027.

"Fosla Football Club is a dream come true. One significant thing about this event is that the floating of the club came 9 years ahead of the projected time. When I was starting FOSLA Academy in 2011, my plan was to have an academy that will accommodate 600 students by 2027.

"That aside, my projection was also to have a club by the same year but we can all see that the club came 9 years before that projection. I can only give God Almighty the glory for finding me worthy of this project.

"I want to express my deep appreciation to all of you for finding time to be here even at shirt notice. It shows how much passion you have for what we are doing. Thank you and God bless you," the former NFF president said.

In his speech, the Acting Chairman, FCT Education Board, Chief Sunny Monidafe, described FFC as a beacon of hope for Nigeria football and called on the management of the club to ensure its sustenance.

"Fosla Football Club is a child of destiny. Not just that but also a beacon of hope for Nigeria football. To manage a football academy and then float a club shows the prospect of this project and the managent has a duty to ensure that it outlives them.

"We are happy that we have an uncommon man with uncommon passion and vision for football development in the country. I call on others to emulate him.

"The FCT Education  board will always support sports development in FCT so we will always identify with projects like this. I want to see and hear about these players in the global football in few years from now," he said.

Highlights of the occasion was the unveiling and introduction of the players to the dignitaries as well as a novelty match between FFC and Sporting Dreams FC. The match ended 4-0 in favour of the Karshi boys.

Football and sports dignitaries that graced the inauguration were the NFF Secretary, Sanisu Mohammed, FCT FA Chairman, Musa Talle, former NFF Secretary, Fanny Amu, FCT Education Board Acting Chairman, Chief Sunny Monidafe, Golden Eaglets assistant coach, Bunmi Haruna, among others.

Fosla Football Club is participating in the 2018 FCT Football League which kicks off on Wednesday, next week.

They are paired in Group A of the League which also has Beautiful Tours FC, Ekimogun FC, Flomat FC and Optimum FC.
